Last week Ruth Ann's school invited all the grandparents to their school for the first 30 minutes of their day. Arch's parents had scheduled some appointments for that morning so they couldn't make it but my parents were able to work out their schedule so they could be there...
Ruth Ann showed them some of the toys she likes to play with...
And while she and Papaw shared a doughnut & some juice...
Grammy finished up the craft project they had prepared for the morning...
Then Ruth Ann shared some juice with Grammy...
And I took one last picture before I snuck out the door...
Ruth Ann is getting use to her new school and didn't cry last week when I dropped her off...but I didn't want to risk it on Grandparents day...I wasn't sure how she would react if she had to say goodbye to me and Grammy at the same time.
A few kids in her class didn't have grandparents there with them that morning because their grandparents don't live near by. I was one of those kids growing up and only got to see my grandparents a few times a year. That was also in the days prior to free long distance calls so we also didn't talk on the phone very often either. Arch and I are both lucky to have our parents living so close to us...and we are very thankful for it too. But that morning I thought about just how thankful I was all morning. Even though there are times I wish I could live in Auburn...which is the cutest little town and a great place to raise children...I know I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be and I'm thankful for it!
