Welcome to the McCarty Family Blog

For a while now I have been enjoying many of my friends blogs. I love checking in to see how their kids have grown or what their families are up to. When you have so many friends from college and even from childhood who live away from you it's great to have a small window into their world to keep up with what is going on in their lives. Selfishly, I never got around to creating one for my family so my friends could also enjoy what was happening in my world.

Now I have no more excuses....my very best friend, Andrea Webster, very generously offered to have one created for me. I would LOVE to take credit for how fabulous this blog looks, but 150% of the credit goes to Andrea's friend Jennisa. Jennisa has a fabulous website which I believe you can get to by the "Once Upon a Blog" icon in the bottom right hand corner of my blog if you're interested in having her help you with your own blog. If not...Google it. This is a new adventure for me and Andrea assures me it's very easy to post messages and pictures. She may be getting lots of phone calls from me to guide me through this process.

I'm most excited about keeping everyone up to date on my pregnancy & then keeping everyone updated on Baby McCarty once she arrives. I'm 20 1/2 weeks (my due date is December 8th) & for those of you who didn't know, we found out at 16 weeks we're having a baby girl. Although the ultrasound technician was pretty positive she saw girl parts, I'm waiting until my next ultrasound (which is tomorrow) to confirm she's a baby girl before I paint the nursery walls pink. We're pretty set on a name....Ruth Ann McCarty. We will call her by both names..."Ruth Ann". She will be named after my maternal grandmother "Ruth" who was and will always be a very special person in my life. She sadly passed away in September 2007 and I wish she could be here to meet this precious baby girl. However, because I believe this baby is a gift from God I know my grandmother held this baby in her arms long before the rest of us will get to meet her in December. I also love that her name will mean Gracious Friend (Ruth means Friend and Ann means Gracious).

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures and posts as much as I have enjoyed viewing theirs. Please be patient with me as I learn how this works and thanks in advance to all those who have helped or who will help me as I need further help!
