I know I'm a little late posting...please forgive me. After days and days of thinking of nothing but Ruth Ann's 1st birthday I needed a few days off. Ruth Ann's party went GREAT! We invited friends and family to our house for a lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs along with some cake and ice cream. I was a little bit nervous about the weather cooperating with us. We had invited quite a few people and I was depending on using the back porch for over flow...but Ben Tanner (our local weather man) predicted cold temps and 90% chance of rain. However, during the party it was pleasant and dry...PERFECT!
Ruth Ann had a great time and here are the pictures to prove it...
Ada and Christopher were the first to arrive and sat down to eat...bring on the hot dogs & cake!!
Then more guests arrived so everyone starting fixing their lunch. Here is Spencer eating with my good friend Lisa, her husband (Brian) and their little boy (Jacob). Today their family is expanding...I know you want believe this, but Lisa is 38 weeks pregnant in this picture and is at the hospital right now delivery Baby Caleb!
Ada showed off some her best manners and ate her Cheetoes with her fork!
Our brother/sister friends, Jay & Betsy, got to know another brother sister pair, Jackson & Maybry.
Grammy carried Ruth Ann for me since I was keeping things moving and taking a few pictures...
My friend Page also came up for Myrtle Beach for the party...she also helped me keep Ruth Ann contained.
The Clark family arrived and the little girls wanted to check out Baby Roper. It's so sweet to see little girls light up when they see a baby. Here are the future momma's watching Baby Roper...
Then it was time for cake!!
I had worried for weeks about Ruth Ann crying during cake time...so we practiced. I bought mini cupcakes and let Ruth Ann have one at night several days before the party. I also sang the "Happy Birthday" song to her over and over all week to get her ready for her big moment...she was great!!
Here's Regan Duffie...she was the first baby in my life...and now here she is all grown up with Ruth Ann.
Ruth Ann thought Regan needed some cake in her ear...
Then it was present time...
And then it was time to play with all these new toys...
But even with all these new toys...she still wanted to play with my cell phone!
And while Ruth Ann played inside...the kids outside were entertained too...
You may be wondering what all these kids are watching???
Spencer is always a source of entertainment for the kids!!
Thanks to everyone who came to help us celebrate Ruth Ann's birthday! Here are some of the sweet faces who were there...

It looks like you all had a great time. I was sitting here laughing about how Audiologists are called control freaks, and we like trying to control situations like weather and a one year old's behavior at a certain special time. Case and point :) I would do the same thing!! Have a Merry Christmas!
